A favourite feature for honeymoon guests is our wood-fired hot tub. Positioned on the deck outside the primary suite, it has been carefully placed to make the most of golden sunsets, native forest views and spectacular night skies. Imagine soaking under a blanket of stars, surrounded by the sounds of the forest, with nowhere else you need to be.

The hot tub is also completely off-grid and sustainable. We use fresh rainwater, which is emptied, cleaned and refilled after every guest stay, meaning you can enjoy the experience without unnecessary chemicals.

It is romance, relaxation and sustainability combined.

A Unique Sauna Experience in the Heart of Nature

Our beautiful new sauna has quickly become another favourite part of the Peak View experience.

Crafted from locally grown timber and finished with stunning Italian ceramic tiles, the sauna has been designed to celebrate its natural surroundings.

Large windows frame the native bush and mountain views, allowing you to watch the changing colours of sunset while enjoying the warmth and tranquillity of this beautiful space. The sauna features a custom sauna fire made by the talented team at Roaring Meg in Central Otago.

For those who enjoy contrast therapy, a cold shower is located just steps away. Alternatively, the hot tub can also be used as a cold plunge experience — simply let us know before arrival and we will prepare it accordingly.

Slow Mornings, Cosy Evenings and Time to Simply Be

A honeymoon is about more than ticking off a list of activities. Sometimes the most memorable moments are the quiet ones. At Peak View Retreat, you can spend slow mornings watching the sunrise from the deck, enjoy a cosy movie night in the TV nook during a rare Nelson storm, or simply sit together listening to the native birds.

The sunrise corner is one of our favourite spaces, with a comfortable swivel chair positioned perfectly for winter sunrises and Cape Cod chairs outside for enjoying the first light of the day.

It is also the perfect place for a private yoga practice — whether self-guided or arranged with one of our wonderful local instructors.
